2008 Agro Trend Wrap Up
3rd June, 2008
As in previous years Col & Helen Berndt of Carramar Romagnola Stud (Maryborough) and Rob & Judy Burkin of Robur Romagnola Stud (Kingaroy) attended Agro Trend in Bundaberg to display and sell some of their up and coming bulls and promote the Romagnola breed.
Col and Helen arrived at Agro Trend first and had the not so easy task of setting up the pens - as often the case with field days, too many exhibitors and not enough panels to hold the cattle. A quick call to Rob from Col allowed Robur to reduce numbers, but still provide a good display with one of their 2008 show bulls. Col had two good sale bulls already on the grounds, so together there was a great display of Romagnola bulls for people to see.
Interest in the cattle was strong - with a fair share coming the Romagnola way. People were interested in the breed and were keen to see more. This resulted in several people arranging stud inspections over the coming weeks. These contacts made at Agro Trend will hopefully lead to furthering the spread of interest in the Romagnola around the area.
It was also a great opportunity for the two studs to catch up with other local Romagnola breeders who called into the site. With great inquiry, both studs anticipate that they will return to Agro Trend again in 2009.
