Eyes on Brahmagnolas

16th October, 2008

At the recent Nebo Show & Sale day held at Nebo's Braeside Sale Yards, the Pullen family displayed a cross section of Romagnola bulls and females along with two Brahmagnola bulls.

Interest on the day was steady, with many interested cattlemen keen to inspect more of the red Brahmagnola bulls that were on display. The Pullen's breed about 50 Brahmagnola bulls each year, these bulls are either red or grey and have proven to be a big winner with the Brahman breeders in the North of Queensland and the Northern Territory.

With only 2 red Brahmagnola bulls displayed on the day the Pullen family were happy with the sale of 9 bulls to local commercial cattlemen from their day out. The week prior had seen a total of 16 red Brahmagnola bulls sell to the North of the State and the Territory proving that many producers are looking for that extra weight and muscle in their herd without dramatically changing the appearance of their quality line of red or grey Brahman cattle.

Recent Genestar testing of all stud sires at the Wyoming Romagnola Stud found that all bulls currently in use scored 5 stars or better (out of a total of 8 stars) when it came to feed efficiency.
